Alexia Fernandes is a Portuguese-French screenwriter and director. Graduating in 2011 with a specialization in Film Direction from the School of Technologies, Innovation, and Creation in Lisbon, she/they/he has lived in three countries—France, Portugal, and Germany—over the span of approximately three decades.

With short film nominations at prestigious festivals such as Fantasporto, Lisbon & Sintra Film Festival, Faro International Film Festival, AVIFF Art Film Festival in France and the Female Filmmakers Festival Berlin. Alexia's screenplays have also gained recognition from Maison des Scénaristes, leading to participation in the annual meeting between authors and producers during the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2019.

Currently, Alexia is developing a debut feature film, which has been selected for the TFL NEXT Screens of Tomorrow Lab, an Erasmus+ program created in collaboration between Sparknews and the Torino Film Lab of the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, funded by the European Union (EU).
